Ki-67 (Protein)

Antigen Ki-67 and Ki-67 MKI67 or is a protein that is suitable for labeling of dividing human cells. During interphase, the antigen can be found in the interior of the nucleus. At the time of mitosis most of the protein is relocated to the surface of the chromosome. The fact that the protein during the active G (1) -, S, G (2) - and M phase of the cell cycle is available, but in the G (0 ) phase of resting cells is missing, it makes a good marker to determine the growth fraction of a cell population. Immunohistochemical representation is an important and frequently used in investigation of the pathological routine diagnostics.
