Kiesselbach's plexus

As a locus Kiesselbachi ( syn. Kiesselbachii locus, locus Kiesselbach Kiesselbach plexus, Kiesselbach -site, English also Little's area) is a highly vascular area in the nasal septum, the transition from the outer skin in the ciliated epithelium of the nasal mucosa, respectively. It is mainly fed by the artery sphenopalatine.

It was named after Wilhelm Kiesselbach (1839-1902), a German ear, nose and throat doctor. In the locus Kiesselbachi the nasal mucosa is particularly well supplied with blood and therefore a predilection for the occurrence of epistaxis.
