Kihon

Kihon (Japanese基本) referred to in Budo, Japanese martial arts, the base or foundation. In Budō are thus the primary or basic techniques (Japanese基本 技, Kihon Waza ) meant, which can be clearly distinguished from martial art to martial arts. So there are in Karate and Jiu Jitsu and other punch and kick techniques in judo throwing and grappling techniques, as well as in kendo and Iaidō cutting and thrust techniques with the shinai (Japanese bamboo sword ) or the iaito or shinken.

Karate

In karate, is created with the Kihon the basis for later in the fight (Japanese Kumite - "meeting of hands " ) to be successful. By multiple repetition and constant practice, the basic techniques " perfected " and then in the Kata - combined into more complex combinations - the stylized fight against imaginary opponents.

Essential components of the Kihon are:

Kendō

In kendo are considered basic / basic techniques:

  • Shomen - Uchi - The straight blow to the head (Men )
  • Kote - Uchi - The blow to the right wrist ( kote )
  • Do- Uchi - The blow to the left side of the abdomen (Thu)
  • Tsuki - The shock to the throat ( tsuki )
