Kikkoman

Kikkoman K. K. (Japaneseキッコーマン 株式会社, Kikkoman Kabushiki gaisha, Eng. Kikkoman Corporation) is a Japanese company that manufactures, among other soy sauces. It is listed on the Nikkei 225, ISIN JP3240400006. The company name (company) was composed of the Japanese KiKKo for turtle shells and one for 10,000. According to Japanese legend, the tortoise lives for 10,000 years and is a symbol of happiness, wealth and longevity.

In 1917, the two families Mogi and Takanashi a family named Noda Shoyu KK (野 田 醤 油 株式会社). It was 1964, Kikkoman Shoyu KK (キッコーマン 醤油 株式会社) and 1980 Kikkoman KK. The company is the world market leader and employs 6,000 people at nine production sites in Japan, the U.S., the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and China. About 400 million liters of soy sauce leave from there every year the factories. The needs of the European market is covered since 1997 by the production facility in Sappemeer in the Netherlands.
