Kim Hunter
Kim Hunter, actually Janet Cole ( born November 12, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan; † 11 September 2002 in New York) was an American actress.
She played her first role in 1939. Known it was in 1947 as Stella Kowalski alongside Marlon Brando in Elia Kazan's Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire. For this role she was awarded in 1952 after Kazan's film adaptation of the play of the same name won the Oscar for best supporting actress. In our memory it is also through her starring role as chimpanzee Dr. Zira in the first three parts of the movie series Planet of the Apes. In later years, she worked on various soap operas.
Mid-1950s it was the support of communism suspected and received no more roles. In a erwirkten of her Supreme Court decision in 1962, she learned, at least formally rehabilitation.
Kim Hunter was married from 1951 to 2000 with Robert Emmett, their son Sean Emmett was born in 1954. Her first marriage, from a daughter ( Kathy ) it was evident she was 1944-1946 with Capt. William Baldwin received.
