Kim Kuk-tae

Kim Kuk - thae ( born August 27, 1924 in Seihsin, Province Kankyo - hokudō, Empire of Japan, † December 13, 2013 ) was a North Korean lieutenant general and politician of the Workers' Party of Korea ( WPK ) and chairman of the Party Control Commission and a member of the Politburo of Central Committee of the WPK.

Life

Kim Kuk - thae, whose father Kim Chaek fought at the Kim Il-sung's page for the sovereignty of North Korea and later Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and commander was in the Korean War, grew up in Manchuria and completed studies at the Kim Il -sung University and then from 1947 to 1949 at the Lomonosov University in Moscow. He took over from the early 1960s increasingly important tasks of the Party and in the government of North Korea and was first vice president of the Central Party Academy, the Kim Il Sung Higher Party School.

In 1963 he was promoted to lieutenant general of the Korean People's Army ( KPA ) and took over at the same time the office of Vice - Director General of the Main Political Administration of the army. During the fourth term in 1967, Kim was elected deputy of the Supreme People's Assembly and belonged to this ever since.

In February 1968 he was elected as a candidate of the Party Central Committee and his appointment as Head of the Department of Propaganda and Agitation of the party. He became a member of the Central Election Commission and in 1976 Dean of Kim Il -sung Higher Party School in 1972. In 1977, he was also again temporarily acting director of the department of propaganda and agitation and in 1980 was elected a member of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Kim Kuk - thae, who was honored in 1982 with the Kim Il-sung Medal, in 1983 again appointed Head of the Department of Propaganda and Agitation, before becoming head of the Central Committee Department of Education and Science was established in August 1984. In 1985, he finally took over the office of the Head of Department for important cadres of the Party Central Committee. He also was a member of the 1986 candidates Audit Committee of the Supreme People's Congress in November.

After he was dean of the Kim Il -sung Higher Party School again between 1990 and 1993, in 1993 he became secretary of the WPK Central Committee for cadres. In this capacity he was in the following years to the Committee of the Party for the alignment of state funerals for Kim Il-sung in 1994, Defense Minister Marshal O Chin- u 1995 and its successor Ch'oe Kwang 1997.

2010 Kim Kuk - thae was elected a member of the Political Bureau and chairman of the Party Control Commission of the Party Central Committee and thus belonged to the supreme governing body of the party.

On 13 December 2013, died at the age of 89 years due to heart failure and was buried with the honors of a state funeral.
