Kimjongilia

The Kimjongilia ( Kor. 김정일 화 ,金正日 花, Kimchŏngil hwa ) is a Begonia hybrids from the group of tuberous begonias.

It was founded in 1988 on the occasion of the 46th birthday of Kim Jong- il by the Japanese botanist Mototeru Kamo (加 茂 元 照, Kamo Mototeru ) grown from Kakegawa and is a hybrid of begonia and tuberhybrida. Entered it as " Begonia × tuberhybrida Voss ' KIMJONGILHWA .'" It will bloom every year birthday of Kim Jong- il on February 16, representing Juche ideology and stand for wisdom, love, justice and peace. In the official German publications of North Korea it is called Kimjongilie.
