Kinderzimmer Productions

Children Productions was a German hip- hop band from Ulm ( in the jargon of the band U- city). Their first album they released in 1994. The name provides a tribute to the Boogie Down Productions represents, but this was adjusted to the place of production of nursery Productions, namely, the children in the parental house of Sascha Klammt in which the idea and the first production steps of the first two albums have been created. On 23 November 2007, the band announced their dissolution. As planned last gig, an unplugged concert, played children's Productions on April 26, 2008 at the Konzerthaus Dortmund. After over two years of absence, however, the band appeared again, along with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, Radiokulturhaus of the ORFs in the context of FM4 Radio Session, on August 7, 2010. On 10 July 2012, a further concert in the Theater Ulm has been given in collaboration with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Ulm in the framework of the Danube river- festival.

History

The debut album of children's Productions with the selfsame name had relatively short time after the publication will be taken off the market again. In the song " Back" an unexplained sample was used by the Stranglers from their song " Golden Brown". The Stranglers had already approved the sample, but the record company has taken their performance protection rights claim, thus preventing further spread of the plate. The album was re-released in 1998 under the name " The First ", but the unresolved sample in "Back " was replaced by a decidedly oblique piano melody, which is played by Textor.

After the first album was withdrawn from the market, children's Productions was cautious on the second album. In the song "Intro" is a sample of Kate Bush just announced with the words: " At this point there was a sample of Kate Bush." The plate itself contains a lot of jazzy samples that sound a lot thirties to the sixties.

The last album until then reveals a distinct style development. The band takes a clear position on the former German hip-hop scene to provide " a welcome alternative to the all-consuming image underage fraternisierender Fubu Zombies ".

Style

Children Productions are characterized by a style very own. More than most German hip-hop productions are the pieces characterized by a dynamic combination of samples (often jazzy and funky, often quotes famous hip-hop classics ) that provide for frequent changes of mood. The chanting Textor is characterized by a very high speed, complex sentence structures and the occasional use of foreign words and technical terms. Thus, the chanting affects every now and then rather elitist and his message are a very self- conscious connotation, even if the content sometimes less in the foreground than the sophisticated play with language. In " Back" Textor sings: " Like I said, I write my lines times disgusting fast, sometimes greasy and slow, sometimes useful, sometimes meaningless," what his style aptly describes. This virtuoso mix of sampling and chanting sometimes assumes psychedelic trains.
