Kinesis (biology)

Kinesis ( from Ancient Greek: κίνησις kinesis " movement ") is a mechanism for controlling the non-directional movement of a living being. She is simply connected, that is, the activity of the organism rises or falls depending on an ambient stimulus.

As an example, the isopods are intended to serve. These animals develop in a humid environment less activity than in dry. This leads in fact to the fact that they likely reside in a humid environment ( simply because they do not run away from there ).

It is important to understand that in contrast to kinesis taxis is no directional movement. It represents the lowest level of cognitive control of movement
