King George Sound

The King George Sound is a bay on the southwest coast of the Australian state of Western Australia, the City of Albany is located at the westernmost end. 1791 George Vancouver discovered and charted it.
Until the completion of the port of Fremantle 1897, the King George Sound served as a natural harbor and was by then at the same time the only deepwater port in Western Australia. The on all sides surrounded with land bay has an area of about 91 square kilometers, the entrance to King George Sound is 8km wide.
