King Sunny Adé

King Sunny Adé ( Sunday Adeniyi actually; born September 20, 1946 in Ondo ) is a musician from Nigeria. He comes from a royal family, but left school to pursue a career in music. Mid -1960s, he performed with Moses Olaiya 's Federal Rhythm Dandies, 1967, he formed his own band, The Green Spots. Frustrated by the business practices of the music industry, he founded his own record label, which has released in the last two decades on hundreds of Ades plates in Nigeria in 1974. With the income from his albums he founded in Nigeria, an oil company, a mining company, a nightclub, a film and video production, a PR company and a record label that specializes in recordings by African artists. It is estimated that about 700 people working in the various companies. The mid-1990s, he founded the King Sunny Ade Foundation, an organization to which a Center for Performing Arts, an ultra-modern recording studio and accommodation for artists belong.
