Kingsbridge

Kingsbridge ( 5,800 inhabitants) is a town in the South Hams district in Devon (England) and is located at the northern end of the Kingsbridge Estuary.

The origins of Kingsbridge date back to the 13th century. The city was for centuries an important market. Today it is located away from the main traffic routes; it is for example not connected to the railway network.

In the historic center of St. Edmunds Cathedral and the local museum are particularly worth seeing.

The mentioned in the historical novels The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End by Ken Follett Kingsbridge describes a different, fictional town of the same name.

The German twin town of Kingsbridge is the Weilerbach at Kaiserslautern.
