South Hams

South Hams is a District in the county of Devon in England. Administrative seat is the town of Totnes; significant sights are Berry Pomeroy, Dartmouth, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Kingswear, Modbury, Salcombe and South Brent. To the north is an essential part of the Dartmoor National Park.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Boroughs Dartmouth and Totnes, the Urban Districts Kingsbridge and Salcombe, and the Rural Districts Kingsbridge, Plympton St Mary and Totnes. In 1967 the towns of Plympton and Plymstock were separated and been merged with Plymouth.
