Torridge

Torridge is a District in the county of Devon in England, which is named after the river Torridge. Administrative center is the city of Bideford; other important places are Great Torrington, Hartland, Northam and Westward Ho!. The district is divided Torridge Lundy Island in 63 parishes and unparished area.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the boroughs of Bideford and Great Torrington, of Northam Urban District and Rural District Bideford, Holsworthy and Torrington.
