Kingsoft Office

Kingsoft Office ( WPS Office KSOffice or in China) is an office suite for Windows and Android, which is very similar in its operation to Microsoft Office and offers functionality and file formats of the current Microsoft Office packages. It is developed and distributed by the resident Chinese in Zhuhai Kingsoft Corporation.

Versions

Kingsoft Office 2012 is available for Windows in a sample and a standard version. The program can be tested as a trial version 30 days with full functionality. Kingsoft Office is also available in German. The individual programs are also available in a free English version available, which pop-up advertising windows pops up, dispensed with macro support and no product support offers.

The Android version is free and also available in German.

Functions

The product has its own PDF converter that uses the MDI mode for displaying multiple open documents and advertises a high compatibility with the Microsoft Office suite, lower costs and a small download size. The graphical user interface of KSOffice 2012 offers the possibility of selectively movable between a control over menus and toolbar similar to Microsoft Office 2003 and an operator with Ribbons similar to Microsoft Office to switch from version 2007.

The three main applications of KSOffice are:

  • Kingsoft Writer: a word processor with advanced layout features
  • Kingsoft Spreadsheet: an Excel -compatible spreadsheet
  • Kingsoft Presentation: a presentation program

History

The Office package launched in 1988 as WPS Office under DOS and is still known in China under this name. The trade name Kingsoft Office is used primarily for the Western and Japanese markets. The first version was Kingsoft Office 1995 There were also two versions of WPS Office for Linux: OpenOffice.org on the (now Apache OpenOffice ) based WPS Office Storm and WPS 2005 Currently Linux is no longer supported; .. but it is working on a new version that is already available as a beta.
