The Kinki University (Japanese近畿 大学, Kinki daigaku, in short: Kindai ) is a private university in Japan. The main campus is located in HigashiOsaka in the prefecture of Osaka.

History

The university was as a technical school Osaka (大阪 専 门 学校, Osaka Semmon Gakko ) founded in 1925 by the Corporation Nihon University. 1939, the technical school their autonomous body. 1943, Natural and Engineering Sciences University Osaka (大阪 理工科 大学, Ōsaka rikōka daigaku ) was established by the corporation. During the Pacific War, the university and technical school had a hard time; Koichi Seko (世 耕 弘 一, 1893-1965 ), a professor of Nihon University and members of the Shūgiins, saved the schools. In 1948, the University of the Fisheries Institute, which is ultimately known for the research of the "full" breeding of tuna fish.

In 1949 the college was merged with the University of Osaka School of Kinki University. She had the first two faculties: Natural sciences and engineering, trade and science. In 1961 she began a research reactor (UTR - KINKI, Power: 1 Watt today ). She is, in addition to state universities of Tokyo and Kyoto, one of the three Japanese universities that have research reactors in operation.
