A kissing gate is a gate that allows pedestrians access to a pasture, but that livestock holds back.

The kissing gate has on one side a semi-circular, rectangular or trapezoidal enclosure ( the so-called basket). On the opposite side there is a door element, which is attached to fishing. In order to pass through the kissing gate one enters the enclosure and the door moves to the opposite side. Thereafter, the kissing gate to exit on the other side. The name is based on that of the leaves, the two stops only touched with its open side, respectively ( Kiss = s: . Kiss ) without lock.
