KitchenAid

KitchenAid is an American manufacturer of electric kitchen machines. The most famous product is the universal kitchen machine, which is colloquially referred mostly to the company name.

History

In 1914 company founder Herbert Johnston his first mixer in the U.S. market. The Hobart model H, which required 75 liters and was intended for use in bakeries. After the end of World War I. Johnston developed a blender for private households. This was offered in 1919 under the name KitchenAid Hobart Model H- 5. In the same year the name KitchenAid was registered as a trademark. The preparation of the blender was in Springfield, Ohio and was initially limited to four units per day.

In 1920, Herbert Johnston, the KitchenAid Manufacturing Company and moved production to Troy. 1927 saw the launch of G is a compact and cheaper blender on the market. This should be affordable for every household. For the design of the kitchen equipment since 1936 the designer Egmont Arens was responsible. For the design of the K models, there were some design awards. The model K45 "Classic" in white is available in almost unchanged form since 1962; the further development of " Artisan " with a more powerful engine is available in numerous colors.

1980 Dart & Kraft bought the company Hobart. 1986 bought the Whirlpool KitchenAid brand and associated works. Since 1994 the production of the KitchenAid appliances in Greenville occurs. In addition, sales in Europe was taken over by a headquarters in Brussels.
