The Kitimat River is a river in the Regional District of Kitimat - Stikine in the western Canadian province of British Columbia.

The Kitimat River rises on the northern slopes of the Etna Peak in the Kitimat Ranges. It flows from there initially in a north- northwesterly direction, then bends to the west and reaches the low-lying broad valley which connects Kitimat and Terrace. The British Columbia Highway 37 (Terrace - Kitimat Highway) crosses the river at this point and runs along the lower reaches of the Kitimat River in the south. Approximately 6 km north of Kitimat is located on the east bank of the river, the 57 -acre Kitimat River Provincial Park. Shortly before Kitimat opens the deer Creek from the left in the river.
