Klaske Hiemstra
Klaske Hiemstra ( born February 24, 1954 in Vledder ) is a Dutch writer. She writes books in the Frisian language.
Life
As a child Frisian- Hiemstra parents grew up bilingual. Since the age of eight, she published stories and poems in Dutch on the children's page of " De Friese Koerier ", a regional newspaper in the province of Fryslân. While studying " nederlandse taal en letterkunde " ( Dutch Language and Literature ), she chose to major in modern literature and modern Frisian literature as a minor.
Klaske Hiemstra began only in 1997, to write texts in Frisian, when she was asked, Board Member of "It Skriuwersboun " to become the Association of Frisian writers. Since December 31, 2009 Klaske Hiemstra has a dedicated section on the website " itnijs.nl ", which is operated by the Council of the Frisian Movement.
