Westerveld

( Listen? / I ) Westerveld is a municipality in the northeastern Dutch province of Drenthe. It has 19,095 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013) and an area of 283 km ² and was created in 1999 by the merger of the municipalities Havelte, Diever, Dwingeloo and Vledder.

Local structure

The site comprises a total of 24 districts. The seat of the municipality is located in Diever.

Other, unofficial districts are Westeinde ( 150 inhabitants ) and Boschoord, Oldendiever, Oude Willem and Wateren (under 40 people).
