Klatskintumor

A Klatskintumor is a special form of bile duct cancer ( Syn Cholangiocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma ). It includes the hepatic fork, so the confluence of the left and right hepatic duct.

Classification and location

The Klatskintumor located on the hepatic fork and corresponds to the types II to IV of Bismuthklassifikation:

  • Type I: cancer concerns common hepatic duct without the hepatic
  • Type II: carcinoma involved the hepatic
  • Type III: The tumor extends on one side ( type IIIa right type IIIb left) to the segment disposals zoom
  • Type IV: The secondary confluences left and right are affected. A curative resection is not possible in this case.

Symptoms

  • Small empty gallbladder with obstructive jaundice, pruritus (itching ), and weight loss
  • No Courvoisier's sign (compare cholangiocarcinoma)
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Increase of bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase ( AP ), and γ - GT.

Diagnostics

  • Blood collection
  • Computed tomography
  • Magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI)
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC )

Therapy

If possible, the tumor is surgically removed. This is followed by chemotherapy. To secure the bile outflow no longer operable cases, stents are used.
