Kleine Renne

The Small Renne is a designated as a natural monument, small and traversed by Bach Small Renne side canyon of the Stone Renne at Hasserode in the Harz mountain range in the district of Harz, Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

The Little Run is located in the Harz Nature Park / Saxony- Anhalt. It extends west-southwest of Wernigerode district Hasserode in a wooded section of the valley of the Little Renne between the Great Birkenkopf ( 664.1 m ) to the west, the little birch head ( 590.8 m above sea level. NN ) in the northwest, the Bielenstein (approx. 525 m ) in the northeast and the ridge Hippeln with the Kontor mountain ( 556.1 m) in the southeast.

The eponymous brook Small Renne here runs with numerous small waterfalls on many granite rocks down into the valley of the Holtemme, which in turn flows there through the gorge Stone Run. The confluence with the Holtemme is located on 395 m height.

Hiking

A marked hiking trail, which was reactivated at the beginning of the 1990s, again, runs directly in the valley of the Little Renne steeply and strikes the former driveway to the forest guest house and hotel Stone Run.
