Hasserode

Hasserode is a district of Wernigerode in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

Hasserode lies at the foot of the resin in the Valley of Holtemme which forms the Stone Run in the upper reaches. Through the village, the road leads to Drei Annen Hohne and Brocken Schierke in direction as well as the Harzquerbahn with the Hasseroeder stations Wernigerode Harz University ( previously Wernigerode Church Street ) and Wernigerode Hasserode.

History

The village grew up around the castle Hasserode in the 12th century, was in the 16th century almost without form, and populated in 1768 by order of the Prussian King Frederick II again, hence the name Friedrich Thal for the lower district and the temporary place name Hasserode -Friedrich valley. In 1907 the annexation to Wernigerode.

Economy

Nationally known the place was by the Hasseroeder - brewery. The historic building of the brewery were demolished in the 1990s and relocated the brewery of Hasserode in the industrial area on the outskirts of Wernigerode direction Darlingerode. The site of the old brewery was built up with houses.

In Hasserode numerous companies in the chocolate industry were established, the company Johann Friedrich Wesche chocolate factory, chocolate factory Ferdinand Karnatzki, Burgmühle Chocolate GmbH and as a successor to the Argenta Chocolate Factory AG. After the Second World War was from this operation, the VEB Chocolate Factory Wernigerode, 1951 trading as VEB (K ) Argenta candy factory Wernigerode. In 1990 it became a limited company, which was acquired by the Friedel candy factory GmbH 1991. The bankruptcy of this company ended in 2002 in the district Hasserode the traditional manufacture of confectionery.

In the field Franken Strasse 6 in Hasserode the rice marvel Wernigerode was a resident. The factory site was also built after the demolition of the factory building houses.

Education

Hasserode is the seat of Hochschule Harz - University of Applied Sciences ( FH). In the building of the former Malzmühle the music school " Andreas Werckmeister " is operated and located in the Luther Street, named after August Hermann Francke August Hermann Francke - Primary School.
