The Small Triebisch at Polenz

The Small Triebisch is the most important and right tributary of the Triebisch in the Meißner Hochland in Saxony.

Course

It originates in the field of city Wilsdruff between the villages Grumbach, Helbigsdorf and Herzogswalde in a grassy valley. In its course it flows northward between Limbach and birch grove through and is then crossed by the Federal Highway 4.

Other cities along the river are Lotzen, Lampersdorf, pigeons home, Kobitzsch and Semmelberg. Between Semmelberg and Garsebach the Small Triebisch flows on the territory of the municipality Klipphausen in the Triebisch.

Inflows and mills

The only significant tributary is the Kesselbach which opens on the right side below Kobitzsch.

The water power of the river has been earlier availed to drive several mills. Get the helmet is still mill at Polenz. The four-sided now serves as a hotel and restaurant.

Fauna

The small Triebisch distinguished by their clean water. Since there are no industry to her, to trout stocks received. At the time of the GDR it was the only waters in the district of Meißen, in which this species was found.

From the mouth to Taubenheimstraße the distance footpath Baltic Saale dams runs along the Little Triebisch.
