Kleiner Kulm

The Little Kulm is a wooded mountain and at about 627 m above sea level. Sea level, the highest elevation in the Franconian Switzerland, the northern part of the Franconian Alb, southern district of Bayreuth, Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Little Kulm is directly located on the eastern edge of the Franconian Switzerland exactly on the watershed between the catchment areas of Wiesentfels and Pegnitz, approximately one kilometer northeast of Körbeldorf, a northwestern district of Pegnitz. The Federal Highway 9 into a north-south direction along the eastern flank of the mountain.

Sanctuary

The Little Kulm is located within the Franconian Switzerland nature park Veldenstein Forest in the eastern part of the company founded in 2001 and 1004.24 km ² large nature preserve Franconian Switzerland Veldenstein Forest (CDDA Code 396107 ).

Observation tower

After the Second World War, an observation tower was built on the Little Kulm, whose platform was only seven feet high. The wooden structure collapsed and was torn down. In 2000, a new, 15-meter high observation tower was built, the platform 637 m above sea level. MSL. From there, a full panoramic view is possible in all directions.
