Klenzsee
The Klenzsee located southeast of Mirow and south of Neustrelitz in the south of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the Mecklenburg Lake District.
Description
The water surface is located in the municipality of Wustrow, whose main town Wustrow is near the eastern shore of the lake. The elongated lake is more than 1.3 km long and up to a kilometer wide. It is divided into a larger northern basin and two bays in the south and east. On the southwest shore is the forest area of the Canower Heath. In the south and east of State Road 122 runs close to the lake.
In Wustrow there is a portage for canoeists to Plätlinsee. Westward the Klenzsee has a transition to Gobenowsee. In the north there is a ditch to Heegesee.
Origin of the name
The name probably derives from the Slavic word for kląčĭ morass, swamp.
