Knocked Out Loaded

Knocked Out Loaded is the 24th studio album by the American songwriter Bob Dylan. It was released in July 1986 on Columbia Records. After the show it was rated by many critics as the album in which Dylan gave himself the least trouble. However, the eleven-minute song Brownsville Girl, which he co-wrote with Sam Shepard, known as one of his best songs is.

Contents and Background

The recordings for Knocked Out Loaded come from different sessions. Driftin ' Too Far From Shore was taken from the outtake material of the previous album Empire Burlesque 1985; the rest of the song material was recorded in late April to late May 1986 in California recording studios. Involved in production were about three dozen guest musicians, including the band Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and a children's choir. The plate itself was above average strongly influenced by foreign compositions such as You Wanna Ramble by Little Junior Parker, an old blue piece from 1954 or They Killed Him, a little-known song of the Country - songwriter Kris Kristofferson.

By the critics, the album was almost unanimous in pronouncing it thoroughly failed.
