Knowledge engineering

Knowledge modeling (English Knowledge Engineering ) is the mapping of knowledge in knowledge-based systems. It is part field of knowledge management and artificial intelligence. For the modeling of knowledge following tasks have to be managed:

• Acquisition and structuring of explicit and tacit knowledge (knowledge acquisition )
• Formalization and image in computer ( Knowledge Representation and building a knowledge database )
• Processing to solve specific problems ( for example, in an expert system by an inference engine )
• Representation of knowledge ( information visualization )

An important problem of knowledge modeling is to capture tacit knowledge and the semantic gap.
