Knut Blind

Knut Blind (born 1965 ) is a German economist. It deals with questions of the economics of innovation and standardization.

Life

Blind studied economics, political science and psychology at the University of Freiburg and Brock University in Canada. He worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Economics in Freiburg and received his doctorate there. He habilitated at the University of Kassel. He is since 2006 Professor of the Chair of Innovation Economics at the Technical University of Berlin, and since 2008 owner of the Endowed Chair standardization at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Knut Blind leads the research group Public Innovation at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems since April 2010.

Work

Blind published in prestigious international journals, including Research Policy, Journal of Technology Transfer, Industrial to Corporate Change, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Telecommunications Policy and the Journal of Productivity Analysis. For this performance he is expected in the Handelsblatt business economists Ranking 2009 for his life's work to the leading German economists. In the Handelsblatt business economists ranking 2012, he is also among the top 100 in the current research. He also is listed in the FAZ economists Ranking 2013, the influential German economists. Blind was awarded the FA v. Hayek Prize of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Freiburg.
