Knut Pani

Knut Pani ( born 1956 in Mexico City) is a Mexican artist.

Biography

Pani, son of the architect Mario Pani Darqui assisted, 1975 in the sculpture workshop of Lothar Kestenbaum in San Miguel de Allende and was from 1976 to 1979 the magazine " Arquitectura / México " out, where he worked closely with Mathias Goeritz. From 1979, he studied painting at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and graduated in 1983 with the qualification Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and illustration from. In 1983 he founded in Mexico City, the experimental workshop " Trazo ". In 1985 he was artistic director of the Rufino Tamayo Museum - and lectured from 1985 to 1988 as a professor at the Universidad Anáhuac. During this time, he and Alejandro Arango and Franco Manterola an experimental sculpture workshop. In 1993 he founded in Tequisquiapan the Printmaking Workshop " El Pez Soluble " and " El Pez Soluble arte Mural". In 2001 he gave his first solo exhibition in the field of sculpture. In the III. Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence, he was awarded the " Lorenzo el Magnifico " medal.
