Art Center College of Design

The Art Center College of Design is an American private university in Pasadena, California. It is one of the leading design schools in the United States. Studies are offered in advertising, entertainment design, environmental design, film, art, graphic design, illustration, interactive design, photography and imaging, product design and automotive design.

History

Founded as the design school called Art Center in 1930 by the recruiter Edward A. Adams, who also served as Director, with the branches of advertising, publishing and industrial design. Ansel Adams taught photography. An additional sub- graduate programs were launched in 1967 Art, 1973 film, 1984 graphic design, product design in 1981, 1992 and 2008 Entertainment Design Environmental Design. New Graduate offers were launched in 1975 Broadcast Cinema, 1986 Art, 2000 Media Design and Industrial Design in 2004.

Building

The College Art has two locations, the Hillside Campus and the South Campus.

The Hillside Campus above Pasadena in the San Rafael Hills is located on a 71 hectare estate. Its center, the Bridge Building by architect Craig Ellwood 1976, which is a valley ( wadi = Arroyo ) and a road is spanned.

The South Campus, opened in 2004, is housed in a former wind tunnel from the Second World War, which was renovated and redesigned by architect Kevin Daly to 2009.
