Kobylá nad Vidnavkou

Kobylá nad Vidnavkou ( German Jungferndorf ) is a municipality with 444 inhabitants (1 October 2013) in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south-west of Vidnava in 290 m asl in the valley of Weidenauer water ( Vidnavka ) and belongs to the Okres Jeseník. Southwest rises Kani hora (476 m).

History

The village was first mentioned in 1266 in connection with a bailiff and his court. The Archbishop of Breslau took it the end of the 13th century with violence in his domain and gave it as a fief then on. In the 16th century, glass was produced in the city, in addition, there were two mills, a brewery and a paper factory. At that time the village belonged to the Niemetz family, the former captain of the castle Johannesberg. 1570 the former fortress was rebuilt as a castle. The last owners were the Barons of Skal. To Jungferndorf the west of the village situated and 1976 abandoned village Annaberg belonged ( Annin ), which once counted 21 houses and a village chapel.

On 1 December 1930, the municipality Jungferndorf 984 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 971 and 22 May 1947 were 457 residents. The Germans were expropriated in 1945 and sold. From 1976 to 2001 Kobylá was incorporated to Žulová.

In July 2009, again was invading a flood of the river Vidnavka Kobylá, which has but caused no major damage more. However the tomb and large parts of the village were again flooded the railway line Vidnava - Jesenik was undermined to a large extent and had to temporarily go out of service.

Family tomb of the family of Skal

In the cemetery there is the family tomb of the family of Skal. In it, the remains of 19 people have been buried. In an inspection in September 2002, it was found that there has been some coffins to damage from a flood. Partly also lie the remains scattered in the tomb. In 2008, by the municipality, the roof of the tomb and the adjacent castle, which is used as a retirement home, repaired. Efforts by the family of Skal in 2010 to seal the tomb, failed because of the historical monument. 2013, the facade of the tomb was renovated again.

Church of St. Joachim

The church was renovated in June 2009. Was financed the renovation almost exclusively by funds from the German -Czech Future Fund (Item Seven of the Czech-German Declaration ). Since late 2010, the façade was renovated, the roof of the nave was newly set with dark slate and provided the church spire with a new copper roof.

The mechanical movement was donated by Karl von Skal 1910.
