Kobyłka

Kobyłka is a city in the powiat Wołomiński in the Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. It is the seat of the homonymous municipality ( gmina miejska ).

Geography

Kobyłka located 17 km north-east of Warsaw and is adjacent to the county seat Wołomin. The municipality has a surface area of 20.05 km ². 47 % of its territory is used for agriculture, 21 % is covered by forest.

Through the community's Droga wojewódzka runs 634 and there are two train stations.

History

The first written mention of Kobyłka dates back to 1415 and refers to the existence of a parish church. In the 15th century it was under the name Targowa Wola was mentioned. From the 18th century the names Kobyłka, Kobiałka and Kobelka were common. the 1755 were Jesuits settled in Kobyłka. Between 1736 and 1740 the Church of the Holy Trinity ( Kościół Świętej Trójcy ) was established in 1741 it was inaugurated. 1755 left the Jesuits settled in the city and caused a 1756 printing. There printed works have not survived. 1773 the Jesuit order was dissolved.

Between 1928 and 1954 Kobyłka was the seat of a rural community in the powiat Radzymin in the Province of Warsaw.

From 1975 to 1998 Ząbki belonged to the Province of Warsaw.

Name

In the 15th century, the name of the village Targowa Wola. Only in the 18th century, the name forms Kobyłka, Kobiałka and Kobelka came on.

The city is divided into parts: Antolek, Mareta, Grabicz, Kobylak, Kolonia Chór, Sosnówek, Zalasek, Piotrówek, Jędrzejek, Maciołki, Stefanówka, Źródnik.

Education

The municipality has seven kindergartens ( Przedszkole ), three primary schools ( szkoła podstawowa ) and two middle schools ( gimnazjum ). A portion of the device is in private or church-run.
