Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü Kağıt (short: Kocaeli BB Kağıtspor ) is a Turkish ice hockey team from Izmit, which was founded in 2000 and plays in the Turkish Super League.

History

The Kocaeli BB Kağıtspor Founded in 2000, failed in 2004 to 2006, three times in the final of the Super League to Polis Akademisi ve Koleji. In 2007, the first Turkish team champion, as the fourth attempt was succeeded in succession revenge for the previous final defeats. In the 2007 /08 season, the team from Izmit again reached the playoff final but lost for the fourth time in the last five finals against Polis Akademisi.

By winning the championship in 2007, Kocaeli BŞehir Kağıtspor qualified for the European Cup for the first time and participated as a Turkish representative at the IIHF Continental Cup 2007 /08. In the first qualifying round they met in Miercurea Ciuc Romania to the host SC Miercurea Ciuc from the KHL Mladost Zagreb from Croatia and CG Puigcerdà from Spain. Although it was eliminated in third place, but could prevail 5-4 against the Spaniards and thus enter the first European Cup victory in their history.

The home games of Kocaeli BB Kağıtspor will be held in Kocaeli Olimpik Buz Sporları Tesisleri in Izmit, which offers 3,500 spectators.
