Kochánov (Havlíčkův Brod District)

Kochánov ( German Kochendorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south of Havlíčkův Brod and belongs to Okres Havlíčkův Brod.

Geography

Kochánov located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands left side above the valley of a small brook. To the northwest rises the Bouchernův Kopec ( Buchner Koppe, 521 m) and in the southwest of Turkův Kopec ( 598 m).

Neighboring towns of Lipa are in the north, U Kostelíka and Sucha in the northeast, Okrouhlická in the east, in the southeast Studénka, Chyska in the south, Úhořilka the southwest, Chválkov in the west and Dobrohostov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was years 1307.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kochendorf / Kochanov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Deutschbrod. The place belonged to Jihlava linguistic island and was inhabited mostly German. The German population was expelled after the Second World War. In 1961, the incorporation of Úhořilka. 1976 Kochánov was a district of Lipa. In 1990, the congregation arose again.
