Schiller grasses ( Koeleria ) are a genus within the family of grasses ( Poaceae ).

Description

Koeleria species are one-to perennial herbaceous plants. They are distinguished mainly by a velvety hairs ( trichomes ). The leaves are flat. The inflorescences are more or less dense panicles.

Dissemination

The range extends from Europe to North Africa to Southwest Asia.

The genus name honors the German botanist Georg Koeleria Koeler Ludwig ( 1765-1807 ). The genus includes about 35 species Koeleria, including:
