Kofi Asante Ofori-Atta

Aaron Eugene Kofi Asante Ofori - Atta was one of the most famous politicians in the West African nation of Ghana.

Career

Kofi Asante Ofori - Atta was in the first Cabinet of Ghana under the then Prime Minister and later President Kkrumah Minister for Regional Administration (Minister for Local Government) for the Convention People's Party (CPP ). Later he was Minister of Justice also under Nkrumah.

Ofori - Atta was the fourth speaker of the parliament in independent Ghana during the presidency of Kwame Nkrumah. He held between June 10, 1965 and February 22, 1966 this office. After the military coup of the National Liberation Council Ofori - Atta lost his post as speaker of parliament.

Family

Ofori - Atta comes from the könliglichen family of Okyenhene of Akyem Abuakwa and is the brother of William Ofori - Atta, uncle of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo, brother of Edward Akufo - Addo and the father of musician Nana Boakye Ofori Atta, artist name, Pozo Hayes.
