Kōji Nakata

Koji Nakata (Japanese中 田 浩 二Koji Nakata; born July 9, 1979 in Otsu Cities, Shiga ) is a Japanese football player.

With the Japanese national football team, for which he was more than 50 times used, among other things, he played the World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan, where he pushed forward with his team as a regular player until the fourth round. At the tournament victory of Japan at the Asian Cup in China in 2004 Nakata completed several brief appearances and eventually scored the preliminary decision forming a 2-1 in the final against China ( Result 3:1). Through his transfer to FC Basel in the spring of 2006, Nakata was the first Japanese national team at the service of a Swiss football club.
