Kolkiejmy

Kolkiejmy ( German Kollkeim ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in powiat Kętrzyński. The village is part of the Office Schulz Wilczyny in the community Srokowo.

Geography

The village Kolkiejmy is about 19 kilometers north of the center of Kętrzyn, about 55 meters above the sea level. Srokowo is 7.5 kilometers south-east, Barciany five kilometers south-west. The state border of Poland to the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast runs nine kilometers north.

History

On June 19, 1342 PRUSSE Tulekoyte received from the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order Ludolf König reason for the settlement Quolskaym, which was in 1419 called Kolkaym and probably village of Cale ( Old Prussian " kali ": Catfish / " caymis, germ ' village) means. In 1785 there were four houses in the village until 1817, the number is increased to five, and it lived 36 people in the settlement. Around 1890, the village was part of the Polish Protestant community in Srokowo. In the 1920s, the oriented to the breeding of draft horses well covered an area of 320 acres and was owned by the family of Siegfried Jäglack. 1970 were counted in Kolkiejmy 89 inhabitants. From 1973, the government-run agricultural cooperative ( Państwowe Gospodarstwo Rolne ) Kolkiejmy belonged to the mayor's office Wilczyny.

Culture and sights

Worth the manor house is an early 20th century was built. The house has a semi-circular terrace, which is supported by four pillars.

To Kolkiejmy performs a side street which includes the village of west and north. In the southern course of these crosses after about two kilometers at Wikrowo the Province Road 650 ( droga wojewódzka 650). In the east, the road opens after one kilometer into another side street.

Kolkiejmy does not have its own rail connection. The nearest railway station is located 20 kilometers south-west to Korsze.

The nearest international airport is the Kaliningrad airport about 90 kilometers north of Kiemławki Wielkie on Russian territory. About 190 kilometers to the west lies the Lech Walesa Airport Gdansk, which is the nearest international airport on the territory of Poland. The airport Szczytno - Szymany is located about 90 kilometers south of Kolkiejmy, but this has ceased all its operations in late 2006.
