Collapse is the title of the first full studio album of the German band Einstürzende Neubauten. The album was released on October 5, 1981. Jet'M is a cover version of the famous chanson Je t'aime ... moi non plus by Serge Gainsbourg.

Publications

The LP was released in 1981 in two different pressures at the label Rip Off Sales and OFA. The first pressing the Rip Off Sales included a 16 -page A4 booklet in black and white with discography, lyrics and photos. The back of the album cover is a reference to the Pink Floyd album Ummagumma. In 2002, the album was re-released in Potomak in Digipackformat. When publishing the Stahldubversionen were taken into account, which were previously only published in 1982 on music cassette.

Reception

Piero Scaruffi writes that the album is characterized by a claustrophobic atmosphere, which is based on an eerie mix of bright sound and lyrical pathos. The instrumentation of the album consists of Industrial cadences, psychotic vocals and distorted guitars. Stewart Mason of Allmusic referred to collapse as the most primitive and most radical release of the band and the album has a music- historical importance. Interestingly, one experiences even decades after the publication of surprises when listening to the album.
