Kolsko

Kolsko ( German Kolzig ) is a village in the powiat Nowosolski the Lubusz and seat of the rural community in the west of Poland.

History

The first mention of the town dates back to 1376 as a possession of the noble family von Wartenberg Zabeltitz. After 1499 it is mentioned from the neighboring Kontopp as the owner of a Hans von Kottwitz. After further owners, the village was in 1583 in the hands of Balthasar von Kittlitz over. 1766 bought by the Prussian Minister Ernst Wilhelm von Schlabrendorf the place. He built a new church and a Protestant school. In 1824 Ludwig Caspar von Klitzing new owner, the family remained until 1945 in the possession of the village. They built a new palace and a large landscaped garden. The Barbican focused on sheep and cattle. Mid-18th century was a large, nationally known glassworks. 1845 lived 899 people in Kolzig. After the Second World War and the expulsion of the inhabitants of a production cooperative was placed in the agricultural systems.
