Kolus
Hypselobarbus Kolus, also Kolus, Kholashi, Rahoos or കാടി മീന്, is a carp fish from the Indian region.
Description
Hypselobarbus Kolus was synonymously referred to as Barbus Kolus, Gonoproktopterus Kolus or Puntius Kolus. The largest Kolus of 100 centimeters in length and about 10 kg weight was caught in the Krishna River.
Dissemination
Hypselobarbus Kolus is endemic only in India. Caught the fish in the Cauvery River, Chalakudy River, the Godavari and Krishna River.
Way of life
The Kolus lives in rivers and feeds on mollusks, insects, ostracods, diatoms, grass seed and decomposing plant tissue. Little is known about the life of Hypselobarbus Kolus.
