Konaka Museum

The Historical Museum of Vidin, short " Konaka " Museum ( Bulg Музей " Конака " ), in the Bulgarian city of Vidin was founded in 1956 with headquarters in a former Ottoman official buildings ( Konak ) and belongs to the cultural heritage of the region.

Museum building

Originally built in the 18th century administration building served as a police station, the central tower structure as a lighthouse. Collection

The collection includes historical exhibits of the region up to the liberation from the Ottoman occupation. The museum is divided into a prehistoric department and departments for antiquity and the Middle Ages. The ethnographic section of the museum is located in the Krastata Kasarma.
