Kongens Lyngby or Lyngby only is the capital of the Lyngby - Taarbæk municipality in the north of Copenhagen. The village with its 11,232 inhabitants ( as of 2009) is best known for its football club Lyngby BK, as well as to sailors as the site of Lyngby Radio, the only Danish coastal radio station. Lyngby is the seat of Technical University of Denmark ( Danmarks Tekniske Universitet ). The open air museum of the Danish National Museum Frilandsmuseet ved Sorgenfri extends over a large area in the city.
