Konkola Blades

The Konkola Stadium is a stadium in the city nordsambischen Chililabombwe. It can accommodate about 17,000 spectators and is used mainly for football matches. It is the home stadium of first division Konkola Blades.

The stadium is adjacent to the Independence Stadium in Lusaka, the only one that meets the requirements of FIFA for international matches. On 2 June 2007, it was in reply to an African Nations Cup qualifier to a stampede, died in the twelve people. In May 2008, the stadium has been released for more international matches after conversions by FIFA again. Since the Independence Stadium is under renovation for some time, the Zambian national team would otherwise have been forced to stage their home games in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers abroad.
