Konrad von Würzburg

Konrad von Würzburg ( * 1220-1230 in Würzburg; † August 31, 1287 in Basel ) was a German poet, epic poet and didactic poet of bourgeois origin.

It is named in Latin means " vagus " ( minstrel ), in German it is called often simply " Master Conrad ". Whether he has stayed after his departure from the Franconian a time in space Kleve, is controversial. He spent the last part of his life in Basel. He is buried in the Magdalene Chapel of the Basel Cathedral.

Konrad wrote on behalf of his patrons in addition to smaller lyrical numerous larger spiritual and legendary and historical - legendary works in the " floral style ".
