Konstantinos Demertzis

Konstantinos Demertzis (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος Δεμερτζής ) (* 1876 in Athens, † April 12, 1936 ) was a Greek politician and former Prime Minister.

Demertzis graduated in law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. In 1928 he was appointed professor of family law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens.

His political career began in 1910 with the election of deputies of the National Assembly ( Vouli ton Ellinon ). In 1924, he founded the United Progressive Party (EPC).

On 30 November 1935 he became Prime Minister. This office he held until his death by heart attack on April 12, 1936. During his tenure, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs and at times even War and Navy Minister.
