Koriki Jojima

Koriki Jojima (Japanese城 岛 光 力, Jojima Koriki, actually, and until 2005 also in elections城 岛 正光, Jojima Masamitsu; * January 1, 1947 in Yanagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party (DPJ ). He was until 2012 a member of the Shūgiin for the constituency Kanagawa 10 and from October to December 2012 Finance Minister in the Cabinet Noda.

Jojima, a graduate of La Salle High School in Kagoshima and Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Tokyo, worked after his graduation in 1970 for Ajinomoto, where he remained for 25 years. He later took over leadership positions in the Ajinomoto company union.

In the 1996 election Shūgiin Jojima moved into politics: For Ichirō Ozawa's New Progressive Party ( NFP ), he ran in the Tokyo proportional representation block on list # 1 and was elected secure. After the dissolution of the NFP he came 1998 on Kansei Nakano Shinto YUAI to the "new " DPJ. For this he took in the elections 2000, 2003 and 2005, the candidacy in the constituency Tokyo 13 against Ichirō Kamoshita (LDP ), but was able to prevail only in 2003. In 2000 he was re-elected on the proportional representation block, 2005, he lost his mandate. For the 2009 election, he took over the constituency Kanagawa 10, which includes parts of the city of Kawasaki, and pulled against Kazunori Tanaka (LDP ) again entered parliament.

Jojima 2002 was a member of the " next Cabinet ," the DPJ shadow cabinet of Naoto Kan. Higher Executive positions in the National Party, he took over after the change of government in 2009: In 2010, he was under Naoto Kan Vice Chairman, Policy Planning Committee, 2011 Deputy Secretary-General under Yoshihiko Noda. In January 2012, Noda appointed him in a reshuffle of the party leadership and cabinet as Chairman of the Committee for Parliamentary Affairs. He is since 2011 also chairman of the DPJ Prefecture Kanagawa Association. At a party and cabinet reshuffle in October 2012 he replaced Finance Minister Jun Azumi, who joined in the party leadership.

In the 2012 election Shūgiin Jojima received in the 10th constituency Kanagawa only 21.9% of the vote and defeated Kazunori Tanaka so (LDP, 37.5 %). A re-election on the proportional representation block he missed so too and was like seven more incumbent cabinet minister Noda deselected.
