Kort Distanse Radio

KDR - band (short for Kort distanse radio), also known as KDR radio, is a citizens' band radio application in Sweden and Norway, where the counterpart to the more widespread in Europe, PMR radio, it also sends the 70 -centimeter band ( UHF frequency range 444.600 to 444.975 MHz). In Germany, the use is not permitted, including because the channels 1 to 5 overlap with the bad radio.

Range

The maximum range of a KDR unit strong as in PMR - and short-range devices depends on the environment. Under the best conditions ( mountain top to mountain top or at sea) can span up to 12 km. In heavily built-up areas are usually not even reached one kilometers here.
